Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Programme

Duration: 4 days, plus pre-work

Who Should Attend: talented employees at any level in the organisation where focus on developing new processes, products and services is a part of their day-to-day jobs. As the Design for Six Sigma Programme is project-based, we recommend participants join as part of a team of 3 to 5 participants from a selected process area. This will enable better teamwork during and after the Training Programme.

Learning Objectives:
The purpose of our Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Programme is to apply Lean Six Sigma techniques and concepts into developing a new product or service. New product development is a risky business and many new products and services fail. While the Green Belt programme focuses on improving an existing process, the DFSS programme strives to generate a new process where none existed or where the existing process is inadequate and requires replacement. The DFSS Programme has been developed to accomplish the following learning objectives:

  • Implement a systematic approach to develop and design high-quality processes, supporting new products and services.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to assess customer requirements and translate these into product/service attributes (Voice of the Customer, Kano Customer Needs Analysis)
  • Identify and mitigate potential product/service failures using the FMEA tool.

  • Bottom-line results: introduction of new products and services with fewer defects, less waste, resulting in lower cost and more profit.
  • Speed up overall development time and Time to Market.
  • Development of internal DFSS experts who facilitate process improvement across functional departments and stimulate teamwork.

The Design for Six Sigma Programme is tailored to the client’s industry.
